Buddhist singing bowl with dorje or bajra and Buddhist mantras on the outside. The auspicious symbol of the two golden fish from the ashtamangala has been etched inside. It symbolizes the auspiciousness of all sentient being in a state of fearlessness without danger of drowning in samsara.
The process of etching involves mild diluted dyes which are used to cut into unprotected parts of the metal surface to create a design on the metal. Firstly, plain ones are cleaned and a mixture of dyes and ash from firewood is used to write or draw designs upon the bowls. They are then kept under special supervised environment after which an etched line or design is left behind.
Comes in a set with yellow ring Tibetan fabric cushion and felted leather wooden mallet.
